If you are traveling by truck, motor home are car this summer anyplace in the United States then you might consider Flying J Travel Centers and Truck Stops. They are without doubt or question a class act and they are the best of breed, as they are clean and have a heap of services available.
If you own an RV then they have a discerned set of pumps just for you with either diesel or gasoline. They also have propane fill ups and an RV dump to get rid or your waste and gray water. For trucks they have a good deal of pumps with oftentimes 8-10 bays so there is not commonly a wait and that means you may stay on schedule and on time even with all the summer traffic and incessant lane closures on our highways due to construction.
For the weary four-wheeler or passenger cars and SUVs, well Flying J likewise makes a very nice stop for the trip with their huge Convenience Stores, Subway Sandwiches or Wendy’s Hamburger right inside. Some even have sit down restaurants too. Flying J Travel Centers and Truck Stops are without doubt Best of Breed and it shows.
They have popular fueler cards for RVs and Trucks, a lounge and even place to do your laundry and a large total of parking too. So whether you are in an RV like me or drive a truck for a living, or are merely going to Grandmother’s house on your summer vacation, perhaps you will consider this in 2006. (I am not affiliated in any way with Flying J; just a truehearted client who thought you ought to know).

An Obituary for Flying Magazine By BobK Years ago when I was learning to fly, Flying Magazine was an integral part of my lifestyle. Articles by Richard Collins and Peter Garrison were compelling and entertainingly educational. I left off my print subscription some time back and recently decided to start it up again on my Kindle. I found that it had turned into an advertisers paradise without very much to offer. Certainly it was nothing like it once was. I compare it to DISCOVER, which offers Kindle subscribers two versions in one, where we can see each page of the magazine faithfully represented, or select text view which displays like any book and contains no advertising. Flying has a tremendous opportunity with its inertia of longevity to provide pilots of all stripes the same wealth it once did, but has chosen to focus more on commercial advertising instead. I’m gravely disappointed and saddened that I have to recommend against others buying this magazine. Take the free trial if you wish, I think you will feel the same about the weight of advertising versus content, and the difficulty of reading articles. One has to zoom them and mess with positioning text. They should take a page from DISCOVER and produce a publication that’s worthwhile to the reader as much as their advertising income.
