With the introduction of the Kindle Fire Amazon.com has decisive to take on the computer giant Apple and they are not using a sling shot. On Sept. 28, 2011 Amazon took the raps off it is entry into the Apple iPad eclipsed computer tablet market, with a tablet that not only exhibits a great deal of of the features of it is challenger but offers it at half the price. The Kindle Fire sells for $199, while the iPad starts at $499 a bold strike that comes at the beginning of the holiday buying goods season. The Kindle Fire will be available for sale starting on November 15th.

The Amazon Kindle Fire sports a 7 inch display which falls a couple inches short of the iPad’s display but depending on how much observing space you need you must find it functional. The Fire uses a state of the art dual-core processor the TI OMAP 4 as equated to Apple’s A5 dual-core processor. The speed of these two processor’s check in at 1Ghz so not one thing is lost in a comparison of processor speeds. The Fire features 8GB of storage and does not offer the option of increasing memory where the iPad does. However Amazon offers free online storage through the Amazon Cloud, for all your digital content accessed by way of Amazon.

The Amazon Silk is an progressed cloud sped browser that splits the work of webpage loading among two interfaces thence making loading webpages a breeze as well as conserving the life of the battery. One of the distinguishable features of the tablet that cannot be offered by most tablet manufacturers is that the purchaser may access the massive media content that Amazon may dole out. They offer access to over 100,000 movies and TV programs, endless numbers of reading material, games and the like. You may view magazines in bright color displayed over 16 million colors thru the touchscreen. The Fire weighs in at 413 grams or 14.6 ounces for the uninitiated. The battery life reaches 8 hours if you are reading books, a little less for continued video use.

It’s Wi-Fi competent so you may read e-mail and just when it comes to anything you might ordinarily do on the web. It accesses hotspots and Wi-Fi networks that feature 802.11b,802.11n and 802.11g. The Kindle Fire tablet runs on the Android operating scheme and that gives users access to Google’s Android Apps Market. So altho the Apple store touts a few more offerings than Amazon in the Apps department, Android Apps will not grant the Fire user to feel neglected.

2Seems good for the price
By LoBridge
I ordered this in anticipation of the new Kindle Fire. The cover arrived today and seems to have a decent build quality and workmanship. It is a simple cover but not bad for $10. My biggest concern is the way the cover folds – there is no stitching to support the folds so the leather has to bend. I will update this review after I am able to use the product for a week or so with the Fire.

After using this cover for a day with my Fire I have decided to change my rating. The leather is too thin and already has unsightly creases in it. More problematic, the edges are sharp and cut into your hand when holding and the border around the screen prevents you from easily reaching the options menus on the Fire which are at the top and bottom.

2You get what you pay for
By Accutronman
The quality control on this product had to have been non-existent. The flap on the case to tuck the cover into to create a stand was sewn on so crooked the production line personnel must have been drunk. Save your money on this case.

4Doesn’t Fit!! – Update: company fixed problem.
By T. Brown
I was very excited to find my Kindle Fire when I got home from work tonight. And then I was exceedingly disappointed to find that this lovely case does NOT fit the Kindle Fire!! It’s more ipad sized, if not bigger! The Fire doesn’t even touch the sides of the edges. They must have sent me the wrong one, i guess, but the bag says it’s the right one, so i’m puzzled. and now i have to shop once again for a case! November 22 update: the company fixed the issue, sent me the correct case and a return label to return them their ipad case. The case seems like a good one, with a magnetic closure and a secure hold on the Fire. I also appreciate the company’s quick response.
